The Causes Of Overweight During Pregnancies PhotoThe researchers have begun to analyze the causes of overweight. Even, they are now grappling with the United States’ runaway rates of obesity. The researchers will analyze the causes in a critical if little understood period of life. It is the nine months before birth. According the study, it has been found that women who gain too much weight in pregnancy have heavier babies, and that heavier babies are more prone to obesity later on. But, unfortunately, the researchers have not been able to rule out the role of genes until this time. It means that if heavier mothers give birth to heavier babies, it could well be that it is the woman’s genes that cause her to gain excessive weight during pregnancy and that those genes, passed on to her child, contribute to his or her obesity.

On the other hand, there has been a new study that helps eliminate that possibility. The researchers have compared different pregnancies in the same women who gave birth at least twice between 1989 and 2003. Based on the data, the authors conclude that maternal weight gain during pregnancy led to higher infant birth weights, independently of genetic factors.

On that study, the researchers found that mothers who gained more than 53 lb. during pregnancy were more than twice as likely to have a high-birth-weight baby. It is more than 8.8 lb. as women who put on 18 to 22 lb. Actually, it is easy to see the study, but we have look at another way, which tells us that with a little more information and some discipline, a child’s birth weight is something we can help control, whether the Genes or overweight.
